Ask it for the answer to 7 times 8 and you learn nothing. The tutor is set up to explain, to ask questions back, and to push towards a method rather than a number. It will take the fifth follow-up question without any change in tone, which is the thing a busy parent or a classroom cannot offer.
For a child who is embarrassed to keep asking, or who needs the same idea explained four different ways, that patience is the whole point.

The maths problem, and what we did about it
Language models predict text, they do not calculate. They make arithmetic errors and state them with complete confidence, and a child has no way to tell. For a learner, a confidently wrong answer is worse than no answer, because they learn it.
So for arithmetic, maths, calculus, chemistry and physics, practice questions and answers come from 200,000+ hand-verified items rather than being generated when you press the button. The tutor still explains conversationally, because explanation is what these models are genuinely good at. The material you practise and mark against is checked.
We will not tell you our AI is never wrong. Any provider claiming that either misunderstands the technology or is misrepresenting it. On niche topics ours gets less reliable too. We would rather say so than have a child quote something invented.
Where a human tutor is still better
Working out why a child is stuck, which is often not what the child says it is, remains a human skill. So does exam craft for a specific board, and accountability to a person your child does not want to let down.

Common questions
What age is it suitable for?
Ages 2 to 16+, with age-aware content throughout. Younger children get most from it alongside an adult. From around nine or ten, more independent use is reasonable with a parent reviewing conversations.
Will my child just get it to do their work?
They will try, and no design prevents that entirely. The tutor pushes towards explanation rather than answers, and because you can read the conversations you can see whether they are thinking or copying. Worksheets done on paper, away from the tutor, are the other half of the answer.
Is it safe for children?
It has multi-layered content filtering, age awareness, parental visibility of every conversation and content flagging. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. No filter is perfect, which is exactly why parental visibility matters more than any of it.
Does it replace me teaching my child?
No. It is good at explaining, practising and being infinitely patient. It cannot judge what your child actually needs, notice they are having a bad day, or decide what matters. You still do that.
